I've only got the Mac version of this but I think you can get a very similar product if you have a PC HERE

Being an ardent hater of all things Microsoft I have been searching for something that can read all MS OFfice documents AND create things readable by it...

now I have and it's called NEOOFFICE

It's basically a port of Openoffice onto Mac OSX but IT'S FREE!

I used MS Office for creating text documents and making spredsheets for things like rotas at work and equipment lists and Neooffice does it perfectly without any hassle and does it beautifully.

the only gripe I have is it is slightly slower in operation than MS Office apps BUT I can overlook that as it's free and open source!

anyway that's the excitement over, I just felt the need to share....

  you will not regret it! As you're a switcher Macformat magazine is a must- I get it every month anyway as it has sooooo many useful articles and bits of Applescript etc...

      Madness. PCPRO has a long article and podcast on why PC's are much better than Mac's this month. Read it first.

        I know we disagree but though Mac's look good they are much worse than Microsoft which at least has some standards and PC's are made by more than one company which surely is better than just being made by Apple. I have used Mac's but still find the PC interface more intuitive - but that may just be me. Hope the move goes well by the way. I still try to read your blog when I get the chance.

        bid D's comments on the forum thread are very good.. he uses both pc and mac...the debate is futile between either, it's all about personal choice.
        
        However as a software tester, I am attracted the the kernel of apple being unix with OSX over the top. simply for pure mathematics and logical use of code. problems arise for PC's simply because of the amount of vendors out there, a double edged sword no doubt. the article in questin here is a bit vague really... however the podcasting software (or what I know to create it ) on the mac seems (in theory) to be much more user friendly.

Ahh, OpenOffice... I've been using that since the very first beta test, I remember going off to work leaving my cranking 56k modem downloading the HUGE installer package and it had just finished by the time I got back

  WOW! I downloaded Neooffice at work in 15 minutes as I was away from my office and had my iBook but no MS Office on it!
