  • iTunes Poem and I bet you can't (be arsed) to work it out

I just bought us two shiny new iPod shuffles to use in our new shiny gym environments and I did a Chilled Out set of tunes and a Not Chilled set- listening to the Chilled Out set I noticed a lot of beautiful words being put together so.......

.......I decided to put the first couple of lines, sometime more, of my entire 1.5 hr Chilled Out tunes, lyrics together and here is the weird eclectic mix in a type of poem style structure but in no way being more!

it makes some kind of sense and if anyone really wants to, it's quite easy to work out the tracks from the lyrics- if it helps I had 20 tracks in my list...

    Understand the things I say
    Don't turn away from me
I spend half my life out there
    You wouldn't disagree
    When you are ready,
    I will surrender
Take me and do what you will
    Don't be afraid
    Open you mouth and say
Say what your soul sings to you
    As soon as you're born
    They make you feel small
By giving you no time, instead of it all
    We're jamming
I wanna jam it with you
    Flocking to the sea
Crowds of people wait for me
    Seagulls scavenge, steal ice cream
Your worries vanish within my dream
You had my heart and we'll never be worlds apart
Maybe in magazines, but you'll still be my star
I remember way back, way back when
I said I'd never want to see your face again
Hush now darling, my momma said
Your daddy's worried about the rent
    Take me down 6 underground
    The ground beneath you feet
    For each a road
    For everyman a religion
What's wrong with the world mamma?
People livin' like they ain't got no mammas
I live my life in chains
    Got my hands in chains
    Dancing in the garden
    Posies in the hall
This guys dead from two days life
    Resurrected by the call
    Sail away with me honey
Put my heart in your hands
    The view from here's breathtaking
    by visions of surroundings
    Hello darkness, smile old friend
I've come to talk to you again
Your star will shine again one day
Through a deep blue velvet sky
    I'm in a spin
I won't let this darkness in
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
    among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
when we walked in fields of gold

well I thought it interesting after a few beers anyway- Sarah got bored and went to bed :)

  • CD Bargains, Sarah's Gym, Geocaching and Nando's

Sarah had her first day in the gym today and she's already feeling sore :)

we then went to the CD fair in Canterbury and got these

Massive Attack - 100th Window (used to have it but lost the CD -
    Faithless - The Greatest Hits
Black Eyed Peas - Elephunk (lost this one too)
Everything But The Girl - Walking Wounded
Ian Brown - The World is Yours
Speed Garage Anthems 99 (looks GREAT!)
    Cast - All Change
Cranberries - Everyone Else is doing it, so why can't we?
Cranberries - No Need to Argue
Sugababes - Catfights & Spotlights (Sarah)
Ricky Martin - Sound Loaded (Sarah)
Tom Jones - The Hits (Sarah)
Atomic Kitten - Ladies Night (Sarah)

All for under £30 the lot!!! BARGAIN!

We then went wandering round Canterbury trying to find some Geocaches but only found 1 out of the 3 we tried as we reckon the others had been robbed :(

I bought some chavvy white Nike's for my gym session on Tuesday

We got Adulthood and Tales from Earthsea on DVD

Then as we are being healthy tomorrow with no beer/ cheese/ shit food we got 16 Stella for later and went to Nando's to finish us off!

    bring on the healthiness!

    :)

  • War & Peace

Started reading this tonight.... will have it at work to read when on break- should keep me out of trouble

and I signed up to gym, starting Tuesday!

    it's all go here!

tomorrow is the last beer day for a month as we're giving up for a whole month to give us a head start on being healthy

    :)

    bring it on

  • Naxx

    10 man on normal

    completed

working my way up to HEROIC

    I did OK

    bring the rest on :-)

guild said I did OK so maybe next time we do Heroic.... :)

  • Ducks Ahoy

    got these today

    Bag o'ducks

for our geocaching- to leave in people's caches :)

Anyway cannot stay long as I'm meant to be doing Naxx 25 man on Heroic tonight on WoW- Hope I do well it's my first time :)

  • Plumbers, Eggs, Joss Stone, BSL and Bloody Trains!

remind me to do bugger all on my days off from now on, please

on my day off I got up with Sarah as the plumber was round at 8:00 to do the gas boiler testing thingy-
    plumber
    was he bollocks!

I snoozed on the couch until 9 then made an attempt at breakfast and lo and behold when the eggs were ready to come out the fucker rings the bell! 9:24 the bastard!

I was meant to be having a meeting at 10:00 about this gig next week so had to text her and say I'll be late

    (HATE BEING LATE)

luckily I managed to get there at 10:08 and had a very productive meeting about an intimate Joss Stone gig I'm teching next week... should be fun as we now have a rough schedule... :)
    joss_stone
Then I came home and had to do lots and lots of paperwork for the captioning gig I did in Belfast and this took all afternoon until I had to catch the train to go to my BSL lesson in Ramsgate- train because the fuel filter on the Lotus is still playing up and she's not being picked up until next Wednesday!

Train is good though as I get to sit and chill and facebook/ twitter whilst waiting so it's not a complete waste of time...

So Sarah gives me a lift back home after meeting me at the station and I finish tea off which was meant to be grilled beef steaks with carrots in stuff which turned out to be crispy solid orange pieces with rubber beef- the beef wasn't my fault it was just the cows arse or something I think- fucking tasted like it anyway
    cows arse
on this happy joyful note (it is 21:18!) I'm off to check that all my ill gotten gains on the WoW auction house have sold, then I'm downing some Stella then cuddling the wife in bed
    can of Stella
now that's my kind of day!

    hey ho

we just got in from looooooong days so are off to chill and cuddle for a bit

    :)

tomorrow day off so I'm really made up the effin plumber's here at 08:00!

    :)

  • Pork stuffed with stilton and the rest

    hmmmm

Sarah's made up this recipe so I had to try and make it reality... she robbed off a shady cookbook dropped off at the works :)

    it might taste nice :)

I've had a very busy day at work and tomorrow I have a meeting an hour until 14:00! still ALL of them will be productive.

One of the front lights have gone on the VW so the journey home was interesting made all the better by some TWAT who decided to blind me TWICE (by flashing his full beams ) in case I hadn't noticed...

sometimes I wish I had a laser gun to pinpoint dicks like that and blow them to fucking pieces

and yes I really do believe that :)

we're trying to decide where to go on holiday this year and WHEN- we're cancelling the September timeslot incase Sarah gets into college so we've maybe got the first 2 weeks in June if I'm allowed it off.... maybe the Maldives? Anyone been there before? Canary Isles?

and of course our annual Alton Towers trip has to be squeezed in somewhere :)

anyway I'm sure the pork must be cooked by now- Come on George Formby Foreman! :)

My friend has her birthday - Happy Birthday Lou! (on Saturday)

We watched Kidulthood - good film for what it is- pretty bleak view of English School though! :)

Hope everyone has had a calmer weekend :)

  • Gatwick Airport

Is not like Heathrow is it?

3 trains to get here and then not much room to chill out, though they do have The Cloud wifi which I get for free!

My flight may be boarding soon so better sign off- Should be home by 19:00 tomorrow if all goes well so until then adieu

    :)

  • Bellatrix the Beatboxer

Just taught Dame Joan Bakewell to beatbox on Radio 4- respect!

and Sarah loves the name! :)

  • All packed for Belfast

So I have checked in online and printed my boarding cards

I have proof of my hotel reservation

I not only have my train tickets but I know the time of my train.

I have packed one t-shirt, one pair of socks and some undies, my Macbook Pro, one Chris Ryan book, my DS is on charge and a BA toothbrush with deodorant and hair wax.

I have printed all the exam rules and regulations and the official forms (I'm examining someone) and I have read them time and time again even going to London to receive further instruction.

    I am ready.

Now is Belfast ready for me????

    :)

  • Lotus Beeps and Etrex Calls

get home to find the Lotus beeping at us? Why is it beeping you ask?

No fucking idea BUT as the battery is dead I think it's to tell us that battery is dead and the alarm needs it not to be dead (it's got a separate battery).

So it's running out of juice and so you beep to let us know- really fucking useful that is...

the upside of this is even though the alarm is obviously not working no fucker could steal the car as she's got no petrol (all evaporated) and no battery!!

On another plus side- I bought this today to help with our geocaching
    etrex
now if only we can get her to work......

    :)

  • BBC iPlayer *EDIT*

BBC iPlayer is superb... it allowed me (eventually) to watch an episode of The Hustle that I had missed whilst in Mauriitus...

it's the stupid fucking advert laden (usually) resource hog REALPLAYER that's the problem!

apparently if you don't "tell" it to download reasonable chunks of video BEFORE it plays- it downloads BITS then stops every 2 minutes to upload more!

    FUCK ME!!!

I'm paying about £130 a year so the BBC can employ someone to fuck me

It seems I'm on the game to realplayer courtesy of the licence fee

    THANKS BBC!

(that's ironic thanks in case you wondering)

  • BBC iPlayer

is a pile of fucking wank

  • Geocaching Heaven

Yesterday we went geocaching in Fowlmead Park just down the road from us.

    It was brilliant!

The caches were really good ones and really well hidden with amazing clues to find them that needed some thought! We found all 4 we were after then as light was sort of fading we left, joyous with our success, and went to have a beautiful Sunday Carvery at our new favourite pub The Evenhill

That done we drove home (well Sarah did as I had a pint) and banged straight onto World of Warcraft for an evening's fun.

Sarah was doing the Valentine's Festival special events and I found it easier to grind for 2 hours to make money. For those uninitiated with WoW grinding is the act of doing a repetitive task time and time again to gain materials or gold. I was killing and skinning spiders for 2 hours and I made 250g just on things that dropped from them and I then made 12 Heavy Borean Armour Kits and will sell them for 21gold each!

If this all seems boring to some then hey ho- it's better than watching Sunday TV and far more productive- even though I know it's only a game... :)

Saying that later on last night I watched Equilibrium on the big TV and it was amazing!!! :-)

For today I got up really late (about 10:30) and after a breakfast of eggs and bacon I went for a long (half hour +) walk along the beach front until I'm home now with a Vimto and my laptop.

    now relax....

  • Builder's Breakfast Crisps

I'm not a crisp eater but Sarah bought me a packet of these as she reckons they are the best ever. My opinion is they are OK but not being a crisp eater if I did go into a shop to buy crisps I would still get Ready Salted :) Classics are classics for a reason!

Just had my hair cut- I would show you a pic but it's nearly identical to the last time I had it cut so just look here to see what it looks like :)

I'm working tonight so no Valentine's do for us and even though we don't celebrate it I managed to bring Sarah home some roses in a box and NOT from the garage :)

    Roll on Sunday off :)

  • Friday Night Off!

YEAH!!!! pigging out we've just had Pizza for me and curry for Sarah :)

I'm working tomorrow night but we don't do the Valentine's thing as we have better things to spend our money on- like ourselves!!! I don't need some media hype to tell me I love my Sarah :D

bit that's soooo far away as there's the night off to consider!!

not that we are doing much other than chilling out and drinking beer (me) and wine (Sarah)...

ahhh I LOVE FRIDAY NIGHTS OFF :)

Hope everyone is having a great night too

  • Desktopping and Monopoly for the Wii

    Ok here's my current desktop
    Jake's desktop

which takes me to my next subject: Wii and Monopoly!

You know how it takes ages to set up Monopoly but it's a great game, well you no longer have to as it's available for the Wii for a measley £20 and it's brilliant! It makes you play by the proper Monopoly rules not the shabby ones we all make up and it's hard when you have no money and your playing partner steals a great property by the auction house!

There are several different boards to play but they are just gimmicks as the prices and relative positions remain the same- there are several "quick game" modes but the original and best game is there in all it's glory even making you shake the Wii controller to throw the dice!

If you like Monopoly and have a Wii go and buy it now it's great! :)

unfortunately I've got to go work now but we've got tomorrow night off so Sarah and I might have another game then :)

  • Good News and Bad News

Good News first: Remember that company that shafted us over fixing our Lotus time and time again? Dutton Forshaw in Canterbury?

Well the good news is that they have gone bust and been shut down and everyone has lost their jobs. Also Mercedes-Benz Kent have taken them over and they took over our complaint, recently offering us £300 in compensation for our troubles. Now considering they have taken over the company and could have just said "NO", I think this is a great offer and we have accepted!

Just goes to show it sometimes does pay to complain.

Now the Bad News: The Lotus wouldn't start this morning and she stinks of petrol making her unusable... :(
    stranded Lotus
More Good News: Lipscomb Lotus in Maidstone will come and pick her up FOR FREE and deliver her back FOR FREE and fix her (probably for a small fortune but we can't have everything!)

so there always is a silver lining somewhere....

Big thanks to Mercedes-Benz Kent and Lipscomb Lotus and tough shit Dutton Forshaw!

    :)

  • Babylon A.D.

just watched this film with Sarah- thought it would look good on Blu Ray
    babylon ad
    now I'm just confused...

I reckon it's a good film but Sarah didn't like it...

I think it's a slow burner like Equilibrium or Blade 3....

    well I hope so....

    :)

  • Beautiful Sunrise

    sunrise feb 2009
taken with my iPhone through our front window :)

  • Best Website Ever

CLICK ME (safe at work too)

keep clicking the text for all 11 statements

    love it

    :)

  • Shopping and Geocaching

yesterday we went shopping and I bought Sarah one of these Sarah's new camera and yes in pink too :)
then we got one of these and we used it this morning and it's brilliant!!!
    egg toaster

    really it does toast and egg :) :) :) :) :) :)

anyway that was yesterday- today we've been GEOCACHING

Sarah heard about it on the radio and using my 3G iPhone we've been hanging around some train stations looking suspicious trying to find some small packages (we found one and couldn't find another) then we visited two red phone boxes and found caches in (and out) in both of them THEN we went for a Sunday Carvery and I checked the iPhone and 10 minutes later we're climbing over felled trees wading into a wood to find a pink lunchbox with things in it including trackable stuff that's been round the world!

It's slightly more complicated but I really do recommend you have a go- all you need is a GPS and some stout walking boots and determination!

    right now where's my Stella???

    :)

  • Where's my Luggage? I fixed the washing machine!

firstly I think I finally got over my journey by going to bed last night at 22:00 and getting up today at 10:30! 12 hours in bed! Let's hope I can stay up later tonight...

Luggage-wise I despair at the incompetance of BA and their associates in returning my luggage. Let's review the timeline...

Tuesday 16:30 at Heathrow my luggage is found but I cannot access it- BA tell me it will be delivered tomorrow
Wednesday morning: I check my luggage online and it says it has been found and will be delivered today to my home address so I ring BA and tell them I'm at work so please deliver it after 19:00 (they deliver until 23:00) or tomorrow at work (I give them the address)
    Wednesday Night: No luggage
Thursday Morning: Check BA's website which says luggage will be delivered to my home address today (FFS!) so I ring BA and say "STOP!", deliver to my work address, they state they don't have my business address but will deliver the suitcase tonight after 19:00.
Thursday Afternoon: Get a text from courier service that says my luggage will be delivered before 17:00 TO MY HOME ADDRESS!! SO ring BA who say it's a mistake it WILL be delivered tonight at 19:00 and not before 17:00.
Thursday 19:00 Arrive home to find a card- " We tried to deliver your luggage today but you were not in" timed at 15:30!
    FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
So I ring BA (AGAIN) and they faff around until I very carefully explain my situation ending with the words "...and I am very angry" so I get a normal person who guarantees I will get my luggage after 19:00 tonight...

    let's see eh?

    I-just-want-my-luggage-back

To add to the life of incompetence I seem to be surrounded by I fixed the washing machine problems today... let me explain in an easy way, basically under the sink are two taps spurring off the main hot and cold water pipes to your kitchen sink. One tap has a RED handle and the other a BLUE handle.

The blue is cold and red is hot.

The blue should be connected to the washing machine.

After washing up I decided to check the water pressure from these taps to see if it is true the pressure is too low as the engineer said...

I disconnected the pipe from the washing machine and went to turn on the cold tap to check the pressure- I noticed the cold tap was hot...

    the BLUE tap was hot
    the RED tap was cold

    FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

Some numpty plumber years ago must have put the wrong taps on the hot and cold pipes so blue was hot (and a week feeble drip) and red was cold (power washer speed).

Our old washing machine managed to cope as it was all fancy and everything, the new simple one just couldn't work...

    IT DOES NOW!

a 30 min wash just took 30 mins so when and if I eventually get my bloody clothes back from Mauritius i can wash them!!!

    now I need a lie down :)

it's good to be back and in some sort of control again!

    :)

  • Mauritius-Nice-London-Deal

07:00 Leave apartment in Mauritius to catch plane home
08:40 Check in at Mauritius Airport
(here the times get weird- Mauritius is 5 hours ahead at the mo, and France 1 hour ahead)
17:20 (but in reality 23:00) Land at Nice as Heathrow has ice and we have 100 passengers from Nice
19:30 Finally get to the head of the queue and get a free hotel in Nice
20:00 Finally get to the head of the shuttle bus queue and travel to free hotel in Nice
20:45 Finally get to the front of the hotel reception queue and get checked in
21:00 Free school lunch type meal in hotel
21:10 At bar to pay 5.10 Euros for a 330ml can of Heineken
22:30 sleep as now it's 02:30 in Mauritian time

    next day (it gets better)
    07:00 Continental breakfast
08:00 Shuttle bus to check in
09:00 Second in queue I check in
    11:20 Board plane to Heathrow
    13:30 Plane eventually leaves
14:00 (UK TIme so 1.5 hrs later) land
16:00 After trying every possible way to locate our baggage at Terminal 5 we eventually find it and 70% of our baggage is unloaded
17:00 After calling one BA employee " a right royal cock" I find out my luggage (only one piece) is in Heathrow but I can't have it as they don't know where it is. Lady behind desk is great and she agrees with my evaluation of the BA employee.
    18:00 Train to Ramsgate
    20:45 Arrive home

    THANK FUCK FOR THAT!!!

as an update I phone BA today and they said they had my luggage ( we knew that) and it would be delivered tonight or tomorrow- we wait and see

until then I can't shave (electric razor in luggage and no razors at home), I have no hair product so look like Leo Sayer and I only have scabby clothes to wear....

littlest hobo stylee it is then

at least i got my Sarah back

    :)

  • Stuck in Nice

maybe see you all later- here's my fave picture from Maurtius by the way :)
    Funky duck in Mauritius
    au revoir!

    :)

Just a quick update to let you all know my mum is stuck here with me as all the transport in London went tits up today.

My poor Jake is stuck in Nice France I am waiting to find out what is going on but I am pretty sure he has to stay over night :(

Stupid snow I want my Jake

    Will keep you posted :)
