  • Killing time

Stupid fucking iPhone just deleted my entire post word by word!

I was saying that I'm waiting for Sarah to finish work at half seven so I'm a bit early.

I've twittered, facebooked and now I'm TRYING to blog...

What is wonderful is that at 19:00 it's still light and rather sunny. :)

    And thankfully warm!

    Bye...

  • blah blah blah

  • Monday Madness

my day has been one long day indeed, starting with finding out the gym wasn't open until 09:00 when I was starting work at 10:00 ( I was there at 08:30 ) which is not enough time to work out and shower then my day was non stop busy-ness until I left at 17:31 and now I can finally relax at home.

today has felt weird all day as if I'm in a dream or something- or like I'm playing at being there- think it might be due to the new (ish) moon I spotted recently

roll on Wednesday lie in :)

I cannot think of anything to say or do or be today...

    hmmm

  • The Courtyard in Deal

Last night we went for a meal, to a restaurant that Sarah had found, and it was gorgeous!

from the setting, which is very relaxed and very attentive staff, to the food which was immaculate.

Our dessert was fresh vanilla ice cream with a tiny jug of hot chocolate with it - hmmmmmmm good job I went to the gym yesterday!

Anyway it was called The Courtyard and can be found here

Highly recommended and we had 3 courses each with a bottle of wine for under £80 :)

  • It's Raining

Sat in the green car outside work waiting to be let in as I'm not working today but need to get something and I don't have my keys on me.

Just had a mammoth gym session which has left me feeling weak but good :-).

Later we are off for an anniversary meal to a rather trendy restaurant that Sarah found locally.

It'll probably be about £250 per head knowing her! :)

Tomorrow we're having a blu ray Bond day with Casino Royale closely followed by Quantum of Solace.

    Bring it on.

Hope e eryone is having a dryer weekend and an enjoyable one :)

  • Stupid Car Hire People

So we get the Lotus back yesterday and Sarah rings the car people to say come and pick the Golf up between 12:00 and 18:00 tomorrow, which was today. It gets to half four and I ring them-

Them: "We weren't coming today - we have 72 hours to pick it up"
Me: "Well today was the ONLY day I was free to deal with you picking it up, tomorrow I'm busy"
Them: "Ah. Can you leave the keys somewhere?"
    Me: " FIne, whatever"

So i have left the nice new shiny £24000 Golf at work overnight and Sarah gave me a lift home as I'm working until 23:30 tomorrow and need my own ride. Hope no-one robs it?
    Volkswagen-Golf-GT-Turbo_big_l
    Stupid car hire people...

other than that the gym nearly killed me this morning with the bike/ game trainer glitching so much and reseting my ride I very nearly died trying to catch up with the bleeder on the screen. Beat him with 0.04 of a second :)

    winner!

    :)

  • Three Year Anniversary

WOW - thanks to everyone who commented yesterday - here's a pic to remind you (and us) of that day three years ago.
    jake and sarah's wedding day

and if this isn't a celebratory day anyway, hows THREE double yolks in one day (we had one yesterday too!)

    HOW LUCKY IS THAT????
    double yolks galore

we better get the lottery on :)

  • Wedding Anniversary & Quantum of Solace

Tomorrow is our 3 year wedding anniversary!

We've both got the day off though I'm going to my BSL at night.

    THREE YEARS!!!

    WOW!!

We're going out to a good restaurant on Saturday to celebrate..

    bring it on :)

As for the film I just got in on Blu Ray and cannot WAIT to watch it!!!!

    YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    :)

  • Hunger

due to circumstances, beyond my control, the last time I ate was 12:30 this afternoon- I am now beyond hunger and might as well go to bed!

bet I'll be starving in the morning though!

    :)

  • Oh and we went Geocaching too today

    cliffwhite cliffs

    and we found it

    :)

  • PS3 thoughts

how ever pretty something might look it still will piss you off ALMIGHTY when you run and jump and die AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN!

bloody games haven't changed at all- they just look better!

    :)

  • I got a PS3!!!!

Sarah bought me one as an early birthday present- my birthday's in May :)

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
    :DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD:DD

  • Build it up and take it down

Yesterday, due to unfortunate circumstances, the show was cancelled.

09:00 we started and with no break I was looking forward to a small break at about 18:30.

nope, we had built the very large set (all scaff and steeldeck), finally focussed and plotted all the lights and we're just about to check the cues when we started to strip the set and put it all on the wagon!

shame the show was cancelled but it did mean I got home a little earlier than midnight but as I was knackered I didn't blog...

    sorry

still it's Friday now and no-one reads blogs on Weekends even though SOME OF US work the weekend you know :)

we're still loving the Golf Turbo car and would love to get one but £24000 is a little out of reach with the Lotus AND the Polo as well :)

maybe when we both are freelance in the future and we can get one each :)

    Happy Weekend!

    :)

  • Man Who Looks Like a Thumb on Facebook

if you're on Facebook you HAVE to join this group! :) And if you are on FB where's my invite? LOL
man who looks like a thumb
    google it and join! :)

  • I got homework!

just got home after a productive day and a productive BSL lesson- we've all got homework- 8 mins of BSL conversation, filmed next week and he'll tell us if we pass or not!

    that's 5 multi channel signs
    5 questions
    5 fingerspellings

    minimum to pass!!!

arghhh my exam is about 4 weeks away so better get revising!

tomorrow I'm working from 09:00 until 23:30 if I'm lucky! Hey ho I do the rota and the show looks amazing!

talking about amazing- that Golf GT Turbo Sport is SUPERB!!!!!

    :)

  • Lily Allen's New Album Rocks!

my new favourite Lily Allen song- it's brilliant! :) btw it's called Fuck You! :) Think of Bush....

sorry about the "video" but she's not released it yet.... :)

  • Exam Pass

Well I managed to pass my ECDL Module Two exam with no revision at all :)
I got 3 wrong out of 36 so got 91%

Some of the questions were stupid and others blindly obvious.

    The cars bloody amazing too!!!

    WHOOOOOOOOSHHHHH! :-)

  • Shiny New Golf GT Turbo and ECDL

Dropped off the Lotus this morning, at the garage that is doing the repair to the front clam, and picked up a shiny hire car with only 2500 miles on the clock.
    Volkswagen-Golf-GT-Turbo_big_l
it's rather nice, if a little silver...

It will, however, get me to work cheaper than the Lotus and probably a lot comfier!

"But why are you going to work on your day off?" I hear you ask.

"because I'm doing a stupid ECDL test at 14:15!" I reply.

Why am I doing the European Computer Driving Licence when I despise all things PC? Well because it looks good on a CV and it's free at work.

What is more annoying is that even though I will know the answer to a question, there is only one answer that is correct and on Windows that's bloody impossible! So no CTRL-C for copy, it's FILE - COPY after selecting it etc.... doomed to fail...

    wish me luck....

  • A Day in the Life

just spent a while typing my typical day then realised it probably is really boring so I deleted it.

and I don't have a typical day anyway, look at today- got in at 9:00 set up 5 mics for the gig, tidied the office and checked my emails then at 11:00 the band arrived, sorted themselves out, soundchecked them and did the gig at 13:10 until 14:00.

14:00 I put all the tabs up into the air and bagged the rest as one of the techies was painting the stage later.

    went to the gym
    16:30 mins on treadmill
    2500m on rowing machine
    9:41 mins on bike
    then chest and biceps sorted

    back to work

Sainsbury's killed the time whilst I waited for Sarah to finish work

    Twittered
    Facebooked

drove home talking to the wife :)

got home cooked Turkey Stir Fry my style - very nice

now I'm going to check my AH in WoW then at 21:10 I'm online on Lost Planet on the Xbox with my mate Lofty

    midnight = bed

now did I just write all that?

    boooooooring!

    :)

  • wiped on WoW in Naxx HC

    patchwerk
    not our finest hour...

  • It's Shandy Time!

Yes I stopped at the garage to get some R Whites because I WANTED a shandy!

It's been gorgeous down here today and we've been to bingo (never won) as it was free then we ragged the Lotus round Kent for a while to shake off any cobwebs that might have been bugging her since coming back from officially the Best Garage in the World

I never told you properly what happened did I? Well the Lotus had sprung a hole in the fuel filter and Sarah and I were busy at work so Lipscomb came from Maidstone and picked her up from our flat, took her back to Maidstone, fixed her, cleaned her (and she was black!) inside and out, gave her a physical check and then dropped her off to me at work all fixed and shiny.

    TOTAL COST - £65!

Yes sixty five quid!!! HOW CHEAP IS THAT???

we love Lipscomb Lotus lots :)

anyway I'm doing Naxx HC later tonight with my guild in WoW and I cannot afford to be too leathered as it's rather serious and all that :)

Hence the shandy and it is rather refreshing......

It's all this Southern air- made me soft

    :)

    Happy Sunday everyone!

  • Saturday Morning and All is Well

And I'm not at work, as usual, instead I'm off to have my haircut.

That is the most challenging thing I am doing today :)

later we're having our SAW 5 night with maybe watching SAW4 before to remind us what the hell is going on- I know Brad suggested watching SAW3 as well but there is only so more gore in one night I can manage!

    YIPPEE!!!

    :)

  • Canterbury the Soul-less City

I spent the morning in the gym then my meeting with a mate was called off so I went into town to find a gym bag as my bike rucksack doesn't look too good at the gym.

Canterbury has one sports shop in the centre: JJB's and it's shutting down.

the best bag they had my size was baby pink- not my colour, all the others could be used to smuggle a couple of Afghan's back over to France with room to spare...

tried everywhere but to no avail- then realised that in the WHOLE of Canterbury City Centre the only place to buy Blu Rays is HMV (if you discount Tesco Express) Now how wank a city is that!

so cue 2 mile detour to the nearest Argos - out-of-town and I pick up a nice sized and decently coloured (grey and black) bag for just shy of fifteen quid....

let me not ever have to venture into Canterbury again for anything other than work!

Now Sarah and I are in a very unique position today- WE BOTH HAVE THE WHOLE OF THE WEEKEND OFF!!!!

So after I've backed up my Macbook Pro to my WD 500gb external drive the only task i have to do is download the new iTunes 8.1 - not a bad jobs list for a whole weekend!!!

    au revoir all

    :)

  • Locked In (AGAIN)

I got up fairly early (for a day off) and got ready thinking of what I was going to do later, browse some shops for shiny items, blu rays, games, clothes etc and even got my shoes and coat on until I realised Sarah had kindly kept hold of my front door key.

Now this means I can get out, but not back in.

    bollocks

Even breakfast was ruined as the bread was stale and I was going to get some fresh bread later

    not impressed!

    hmmmmm

  • tired

    long day but tomorrow off

    YAWN

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • POP 3 and IMAP

    apple-mail-icon
thing is IMAP is a great idea until you forget you're using it, delete some stuff on your phone email and find that it's deleted on your laptop!!! ARGHHHHHHH!!!

so for now I'm sticking with the old fashioned (but safer) POP3 :-)

long day but I'm not aching too much from the gym yesterday so ALL IS WELL!

and as a special treat (as we have both got really busy weeks) we're having a Chinese!

    yey!

Sarah bought us SAW 5 on Blu Ray so we can watch it on our weekend off- maybe watch 4 then 5 together
    jigsaw
    yey

    :)

  • Swift Flight Form

    epic druid flight alliance
Got to work a little early today as I said we could share cars but thought I was starting at 12:00- no I was starting at 14:00!

So I went to the gym and did 12 mins each machine (running, rowing and cycling) which is 2 mins better than I did last time!

bloody knackered me though but I think a week of 12 mins and then i can go for the big 15!

after working out for bout 45 mins I then had from 11:00 until 14:00 to kill.

luckily I had my Macbook Pro and a good net connection at work so I logged on to WoW and FINALLY got my Swift Flight Form

now this might not seem much- it is only a game BUT they cost 5000g to train and in any language that's a lot :)

    AND IT'S SO FAST!!

I now no longer have to be jealous of Brad as he got his way before me :)

Oh and we managed to get a week in Malta for way under what we were willing to pay so bring on June...

night night everyone- been a long day!

  • Geocache Day and Malta again!

once again we spent a few hours geocaching today, went on a gorgeous walk on a haunted path and found a great cache in the middle of nowhere then we went back to a cache we couldn't find before and found it in 3 minutes!! very strange!

then after all that exertion we came home to put the slow lamb on (4 hours) and play WoW whilst Sarah finds us cheap deals for Malta in June...

she's been trying all day and we might have it down to £500 for the week :)

    bring it on!

right I'm sure I left a Stella around here somewhere???

    :)

  • She's back!!!!!

    lot4
    our new Lotus! (probably)lot1
    YEY!!!!!

  • the day goes on

It gets more and more exciting!

actually it doesn't but it sort of got your hopes up didn't it?

I've done nothing more than buy two new pairs of identical work jeans from M & S (black and hard wearing), some bread and a birthday card for my Dad, who's birthday it is on Saturday.

I've also competed an invoice for my Belfast trip but I need a bigger envelope so that will have to wait until Friday.

It's all GO GO GO GO here isn't it?

It gets livelier later when i get to travel ON A TRAIN to Ramsgate to have my BSL lesson.

Well to liven it up even more I have got the Joss Stone gig that I'm venue production managering tomorrow :)

can you tell I'm missing the Stella.......?

but on positive note I AM feeling slightly healthier :):):)

  • BUZZ!

that's been the sound of the doorbell all day

BUZZ 1- was the postman dropping off our iPod shuffles (YEY!)

BUZZ 2 - was the guy come to pick up the Lotus to fix her (:()

BUZZ 3 - was a delivery bloke dropping off my new Mac headset so I can connect to Vent servers and actually converse on WoW!

considering that no-one EVER rings our bell it's been manic

    phew!

Now I'm off out to get some work stuff and some dinner :)

  • First Day at the Gym

went well today, I had to endure the 20 minute "this is how we do things here" shuffle walk around but after that i was let loose in the gym!

I have to admit it's slightly fulfilling to walk past everyone in the "usual" gym and swipe my card in the "elite" cardio section with all the new machines and only 2 people in there! I'm a gym snob already- like those people in first class on planes that always try to hide their sneer when, to be honest, I'd rather pay £1500 less for the same journey... :)

anyway I tried the treadmill thingy with all it's flashing lights and stuff, started off with a slow walk to warm up then eventually managed to peg it up to level 11 for 10 mins before I felt a little wobbly so slowed down for a 2 min warm down walk...

happy that I hadn't fallen over I wandered over to the rowing machine, one of my favourite exercises, and managed 10 solid minutes at full!

After nearly dying rowing I went onto the best machine ever- the bike?

    "Bike?" I hear you ask.

Yep, the bike because my bike asks you to log in when you sit on it and you basically play a bike all terrain race (like on PS3 or Xbox) but on a bike that you are steering and pedalling like crazy on! I thought it would be shit but after a swift 1.5Km level 1 beginner race I WAS KNACKERED and sweating like a dog! You see the clever bit is that some of the way through the exercise the other riders are some way behind until about half way when they start catching up and you then try to pedal a bit harder to gain your lead but they get a bit closer until it's a mad dash for the end!

    BRILLIANT IDEA! What motivation!

    :0

anyway after that I was knackered and had managed about 50 mins of pure exercise of which I'm sure I'll pay the price tomorrow...

luckily I'm not in work though I am up at 07:30 to try and get the Lotus started so it can be picked up to go away and be fixed....

    fingers crossed

    :)

  • pish x 2

long day at work so I rush home to.... no snacks, chocolate or beer...

    gutted

Still I have a lovely wife her and I am starting the gym tomorrow so all will get better

    eventually

    :)

  • End of Everything Ever

The title of this is title of a show we had last week and it's how feel today knowing a whole month without chocolate, fizzy drinks & beer and on top of that I'll be getting fit too!

    P.I.S.H.

Still I know once I've done my first workout I'll feel better and no loner looking sidewise at the Ferrero Rocher and wondering what's an acceptable time to have another tea!

    hey ho

    :)
