Well I'm no great Manchester United fan but tonight's game looks to be a great one..
let's hope so and to be honest I do hope they win

As you know we went on a HUGE (3.5hr) bike ride yesterday from Deal to St Margaret's Bay, we we're lucky as when we got home about half an hour later it started pouring down and a massive thunder storm hit us!
Our picnic went down well though Sarah was adamant one of the chicken legs was frozen- I swear they weren't as we don't even have a freezer!
We had our picnic by the sea, sheltered by an upturned boat's hull that had been made into a shed.
This sea was, unfortunately, way down a v.e.r.y. b.i.g. h.i.l.l. so Sarah opted to push her (albeit heavier) bike up it whilst I determinedly (like all blokes) clicked on first gear and went for it.
The only picture of the day that I think is worthy of showing is this one. If you look really close you can see Sarah pushing her bike up the v.e.r.y. b.i.g. h.i.l.l.

we then got a little lost in St Margaret's Bay village but finally found the bike path home, with a pint in the Zetland Arms as reward!
After getting in, carrying 2 bikes up 4 flights of stairs, I was knackered, only slightly relieved to see Sarah was more knackered than me!
Now today I've got a whole day off with nothing to do....
World of Warcraft it is then...
@ Monday, 25. May, 2009 – 10:58:52
We're off to do the bike ride I did the other day as I described it so wonderfully to Sarah she wanted to see it...
we thought it was all off this morning as it was raining but it's gone now and everywhere is dry so when she's ready we're off...
we have a picnic ready of:
BBQ & plain chicken
houmous
bread rolls
carrot sticks
apple
pineapple
grapes
olives in lemon
and I'm starving so can't wait to get on the top of those cliffs ![]()
will try and remember the camera too so can post some pics later
hope everyone is having a great Bank Holiday Monday (in the UK that is! )
@ Sunday, 24. May, 2009 – 22:32:57
today after going shopping we then sat on the beach and talked for a few hours BUT we are both now bright red.. it didn't seem that hot at 15:30 ![]()

In the spirit of being healthy and not playing WoW all day on my day off, I decided to go on a bike ride to St Margaret's Bay just between here and Dover. There's a signed path all the way along the beach then through some glorious forest up a slight incline (which was ace coming back) then into the bay and down a huge hill to the sea front...
was a good decision ![]()

Well I have just finished my BSL Level Two 203 exam.....
it has to go up North to be assessed so I won"t know until a few weeks but my tutor said (signed) that I did OK..
Let's hope the assessors think so too...

@ Tuesday, 19. May, 2009 – 10:02:18
Well my days off without Sarah that is....
today I have to:
Go to the local butchers and get Sarah some minty lamb burgers for Thursday
Get some barms (muffins, baps, rolls whatever they call them down here) for said burgers
Pay Sarah's cheque into the bank
Prepare a report about the captioner I examined in Newcastle, type up report and send it off
Practice my BSL again and again and again as I have my 203 exam tomorrow night - 8 minutes talking to the examiner in sign language! Arghhhhhhhhh!
eat
then about 19:30 I get to cook tea for Sarah like the good little house husband I am
I wish ![]()
anyway I haven't time to hang around here- things to do

you know how we went on the ferry to Calais and never got off but got lots of cheap Stella?
well my sign language tutor told me that last year he and his family had seen an advert for cheap travel to France- paid £1 per person for him and his wife, 2 kids and they looked forward to a day in Calais...
went to get off the ferry and got told they were on the same ticket that we bought- one where you DON'T get off the ferry!
being deaf no-one thought to explain this too him ![]()
I laughed my head off!!!
![]()
Newcastle tomorrow night examining a trainee captioner- wish him luck

@ Monday, 11. May, 2009 – 17:12:42
the gales kept Sarah and me up all night last night and the sea at the moment has HUGE waves

the picture doesn't really show how big they are ![]()
Sarah's been gyppy today so had the day off work, unfortunately I had to go in and had a really really busy but good day ![]()
now I'm cooking chicken for the wife (as she's weak) and I'm going to add lashings of XX Hot Nando's Peri Peri Sauce - so glad they are selling it out of their stores now
@ Sunday, 10. May, 2009 – 14:44:38
the other day I popped into my local offy, the one where I get 24 x 500ml cans of Stella for £21.
Well he had none in.
None at all.
being very unsuitably unimpressed I had to buy the 440ml (made in Preston) Stella from Sainsbury's- £21.00 for less beer and less taste than the imported stuff...
a plan hatched (well Sarah told me)
we can see France from our window- so let's go buy duty free.
P & O do a Car Shopper Deal- you play £10 for car and get to load on first- you stay on ferry to Calais but you don't get off you just turn your car round to the front of the ferry (so you're first off) and go back for a brew upstairs.
more importantly Stella x 24 500ml cans are only £12.99!
so £129.90 or £210? common sense dictates ferry....

what common sense didn't count on is Sarah being with me, having 2 English Breakfasts (£15:00) and 2 x brew (£5), 6 bottles of Banrock Station oh and a £100 Radley bag!

think I might have been had but as she's now transferring her life into this bag she seems to be happy which is the main thing ![]()
now where's that first Stella out of 240?
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend
@ Wednesday, 06. May, 2009 – 19:46:22
things I've done today

helped in the rigging of the LX for the ballet tomorrow and laid the dance floor
completed ECDL part 1 with a 97% pass (it was easy peasy)

ARGHHH how grown up is that???
this is what she will look like when built

@ Monday, 04. May, 2009 – 11:56:22
In recognition of it nearly being my birthday we're off for a Full English Breakfast at the gloriously named Starburger in town. Now this cafe looks exactly like it sounds BUT it does do a gorgeous, reasonably priced breakfast, unlike the beautifully placed restaurant at the end of the pier, that charges £9 each for a pittance surrounded by tourists.... and the food is awful...
sometimes location isn't everything and anyway Sarah offered to pay ![]()
tomorrow is, of course, the big day: 38 years old and living darn south
we might go somewhere nice if the weather holds off...
will let you know
@ Saturday, 02. May, 2009 – 13:56:49
last night, through a long set of circumstances, Sarah and I ended up playing Singstar on the PS2 until 6am ![]()
Sarah won (obviously) but was miffed that my tuneless warblings were beating her easily on some tunes- ![]()
he he
I have only just got up and now we're off to do food shopping for our BBQ on the beach tomorrow
still feel a little hazy
