WORKING! All the bloody time - next day off- NEXT Friday that's in 8 bloody days!

anyway- the green car has been in to the car hospital and cost me £468 to fix a dodgy clutch box and a throttle body. She's now all well and shiny and working.

Our blinds have turned up so soon I shall be attempting to put them up once I've gone to get some bloody screws and rawl plugs that the tight fisted bastards, at the wooden blind company, failed to include...

this will, hopefully, mean no more shimmying across the floor naked whilst we try and get showered/ up without being spotted through the window...!

EDIT........

all the above was written this morning and now it's 14:00 and the blinds ARE up and look lovely, the cooker has been picked up and paid for off Ebay (thank fuck) and I'm now waiting for someone to arrive here so I can babysit them sunning plants outside all day

...though the green car's brake pedal seems to be sticking now...

it's never ending is it with cars?

Arrive at station very early and find hundreds of people outside.
Bollocks. I wait with the milling throngs the. Decide to chance it and
ask someone from train station.

Turns out the only train running is the one to Canterbury in 15
minutes! Good job I asked. I should get to work on time ...

Also found out our handyman had his van stolen last night with our
kitchen bits inside! And the stair nosing as he was going to work on
them at home. He's going to replace them but what a pain for him!

Still now he's ( nearly ) finished we won't be walking sawdust round
the house!

Anyway train should be leaving soon so au revoir.

:)

at the mo we're just hanging around whilst our floorer finishes the hall and the edges etc. we're stuck in the lounge as he's sawing things into bits and leaving sawdust everywhere! It will be fine once he's finished when i can sweep up and make everywhere look lovely.

if he finishes ...

anyway, we're on the net but my Mac is playing up with it's wireless. Stupid machine, they've gone downhill since they put Intel Inside. As much as I love Macs it's like "JUST FUCKING CONNECT LIKE YOU DID YESTERDAY!" all the time...

Up at 7:30 to get ready for the removal men who arrived at 9:00.

Sarah and I were running around doing last minute cleaning things before they arrived with Sarah dissing Henry Hoover every two minutes (Fair she borrowed her mates Dyson- Thanks Camelia! - and it got FULL after the Henry had been round!)

Removal men arrive and load van and they were even coerced into taking the cooker and fridge by the arrival of three crisp £10 notes

I go to new flat and set everything up (after sweeping though the entire flat, breaking our handyman's broom, dust from new floor see)

Sarah cleans the hell out of the old flat...

About 17:30 Sarah arrives and I'm STILL waiting for the BT man to arrive and set us up...

18:00 I ring BT and moan at them, they say the line's active I just need to find the MASTER SOCKET....

of course! NOT.

with 5 sockets in the new flat I eventually find it and it's in the hall... That's fine methinks as we're on N wireless now so it should easily reach the lounge.

NO it doesn't...

and the BT man told me the other sockets are probably not wired up and I'll have to get an engineer round and PAY him to connect them.

bollocks to that- I go down to the master socket and open it up. In it is a data/ telephone cable with about 9 loose wires...

OK so connect the blue wire with white stripes to curcuit 2

the orange wire (or brown one) to circuit 5

you get my drift... anyway with a bit of guess work I rush upstairs to try out the other sockets

Sarah's got a bad cold but has soldiered on all day.

We've had 2 trips to OUR NEW FLAT to drop some stuff off. Long journey...

Now all my plants are safely stored in the flat, our flooring is nearly completed- just the beading around the edges to do and our current flat is a huge tip!

The Ebay verdict is now this:

Fridge- offered to closest bidder but not replied- people who mistakenly bid were really apologetic and all sorted though it's still not been taken up and is still here. Means we have a fridge 'til we get a new shiny Samsung Fridge/ Freezer
Cooker- Complete prick said couldn't pick up until Monday so I tried to cancel the auction which he refused saying I was "unreasonable".
Quick live chat to ebay and they said "insist he pays or cancels the auction" which I have done but no reply. Will try get the movers to take it tomorrow.
Tyres: Nothing. Nada. Fuck all. So i'm taking them with me and he can either pick them up or not.
Tumble Dryer: Buyer says "sorry got another one" even though they won the auction for £97. I'm going to take them to court to get the money. You bid on an item, you fucking pay for it. Will get the movers to take it to ours tomorrow.

fucking farce are ebay buyers- shower of shite the lot of them (apart from our 2 good buyers) though the two guys who came to take my TV texted me this the day after:

"Want your dick sucked?"

I never replied ...

Sarah spent the morning waiting for the bamboo flooring to arrive (it did) and our handyman will be putting the floor down from Monday all ready for us to move on Thursday.

I've put everything we don't need on eBay including:

1 x electric cooker
1 x tumble dryer
1 x washing machine
1 x fridge
3 x BF Goodrich G Force Profiler tyres

let's just hope they go for a decent price as I've put no reserve on everything...

anyway I've spent my entire day showing cartoons for an animation festival from 09:30 until 20:00 then I showed District 9 which is a great film, finally finishing at 23:00.

Different but great with a brilliant last 20 minutes ...

I show it again Monday so will give it another look see if it gets better...

today has been very strange. I awoke at 01:30 ish when Sarah got back home and came to bed. "with a jump" Sarah said...

I have no recollection as I was asleep.

Got up at 07:40 and went and picked up one of my techies as she crashed her car the day earlier and she's on the way in.

Got to work at 09:30 but couldn't start as with the European Work Time Directive I have to have an 11 hour break between shifts... so I started at 10:00...

easy day, all sorted, done dusted, gave Techie life back home...

pizza from Sainsbury's and then blokes turn up and take away my lovely SONY Trinitron TV that cost me £680 six years ago and today went for the bargain price of £45! And I was lucky to get that...

now just the fridge, tumble dryer, cooker and washer to sell in a week...

now tomorrow I was in early but I managed to get some time to do the rota so I'm not in until 13:30 which means Sarah and I might actually see each other...

it's pretty lonely in here without her....

We're going for a coffee strand woven bamboo floor throughout (apart from bathrooms) and hopefully it'll be finished BEFORE we move in.

so i went and paid the movers (£555 down from £624) - thank fuck for all that overtime, picked up the boxes and tape
and got down to some serious packing.

I've now packed:

Books - 6 boxes
CD's - 1 box - thank the lord for iTunes!
DVD's - 3 boxes - NOT the Blu Rays yet
NAD amp
NAD CD player
Kef Speakers x 2 ( for above )
Wii Fit - used it twice

next to pack today are:

Wii
Xbox 360
Etrex GPS
Wii, Xbox 360 and DS games
My stones - before you ask, I have a habit of picking up stones from beaches I've been to, some small and some large and over the last 15 years I've got quite a selection. Sarah's letting me keep them for the garden

so I can't procrastinate any longer on here ...

then later we're going shopping for the week and getting our big fat pumpkin

until then here's a pic of our pumpkin 3 years ago

now I'm home with the pitiful total of 3 Stella in the fridge!

pish...

tomorrow I'm not in until 21:30 so I'm meeting our new Best Friend - a handyman who's willing to put our bamboo floor down , in the new flat, for £100 per day.

I'm meeting him at our new flat as I'm measuring up the blinds anyway...

sounds like a deal, though ...

this bloody postal strike may fuck up our completion date as no fucking mail is being delivered- thanks Royal Mail- not the workers on strike but the twats like Royal Mail's CEO who gets 1.25 million pound a year to fuck our post up...

if Royal Mail don't cock it up we should be completing next Friday 6th November ...

moving in 12th November- I managed to get the removal cost down from £624 to £555 by just sending an email

anyway 2 Stella left and there's still some life in me...

Not that I'm moaning about doing the last month of Monday nights- it's paying for our move!

after the marathon film showing yesterday I had an easy day today just one kids show at 14:00 and a PA drop off at 16:00.

now we've got roast duck in the oven with goose fat smothered potatoes and sprouts and gravy to come- Sunday dinner on a monday night ...

had another quote for the move today - £800!! Thieving bastards. So I've emailed the original company to see if they are willing to negotiate on the price...

worth a try

I'm being a projectionist today to cover our projectionist leaving and the new ones starting... it's overtime so I don't mind and Sarah's come along for the ride.

I don't usually blog from work but the film's running, the other one's rewinding and I thought i'd have the time as this film finishes in 123 minutes!

Today we've shown

Inherit the Wind
Creation &
Julie & Julia

well we're showing J & J now...

we brought a picnic of many flavoured fruits and foods

Coconut pieces
Pineapple pieces
Green grapes
Fresh French bread
Organic houmous (cheaper than normal one)
Celery sticks
Bottle of Buxton water
Stilton
Melton Mowbray mini pork pies x 4
4 Sausage rolls (2 left)
Doritos and tomato dip &
Some olive marg

we've got the pineapple pieces, 2 sausage rolls, some Doritos and some grapes left

we have been here since 12:30 and will leave just after 23:00 so it's a long slog!

now I could just sleep ...

we spent ages trying to get my old G4 mac online (I gave it to Sarah), including manually inputting the settings, trying to share my net connection, everything but it would not assign a proper IP. Then I just plugged it into the wall with a cable and it worked- DOH!

that's what you get for overly complicating things!

then when we were both online we played Facebook Scrabble! Who needs a board? Great fun indeed...

now after sipping some Peppermint tea ( I'm still feeling a little poorly) we've got nothing to do for 2 hours until the film ends then we can go home. So working on a Sunday isn't too bad when we can be together like this

only thing different is no beer!

still overtime at work, Sarah and Sunday's are a good mix

I hope everyone else isn't working and is having a great Sunday ...
